The Pit of Pejitei [1] is where the excavators of Pejitei dug up engines from the ruins of an ancient city buried under Pejitei. It is unknown whether the Pejiteians called it the Pit but that is what the Worm Handlers guarding the ruined city call it. The people of Pejitei had been digging up engines for 500 years. The top of the Pit is called the Pithead. A series of bucket elevators take one down the Pit. The excavations are so extensive it is possible to get lost and never find your way out. The Pit is where the first intact God Warrior was found [2]. While viewing the God Warrior in the Pit, Kurotowa's Worm Handlers escort attempts to push him into the Pit but Kurotowa dodges out of the way and his would-be assassin falls to his death instead [3].
