The Periphery is a region home to the Autonomous States of the Periphery, small fiefdoms that owe allegiance to the Kingdom of Torumekia. By an ancient treaty, the states remain autonomous but must militarily support Torumekia if called to war [1]. The treaty with the Valley of the Wind requires the chieftain of the Valley to serve as a gunship pilot under the Torumekian Emperor [2].

Population Edit

The People of the Periphery are very independent and proud of their autonomy from the Kingdom of Torumekia. The people are spread across several valleys and settlements, including Valley of the Wind, Pejitei (before it was sacked) and Pagase.

History Edit

After the defeat of the Battle of the Acid Lakes, the surviving chieftains gather in the Valley of the Wind and meet with King Jhil and decide to break the Periphery Treaty with the Vai Emperor, in order to defend their lands from an imminent Dorok invasion [3].

An unnamed and unidentified chieftain welcomes the coming Daikaisho since it will destroy both the Doroks and the Torumekian Armies until he is rebuked by Grandmother [4].

Ecology Edit

Sandstorms, polluted with miasma [5], flow from the Sea of Corruption into the Periphery.
